Professional Red Carpet Hair and Makeup
*FLASH FLASH!! You’ve made it!! It’s your big moment!! And you’ve received your invitation to the Red Carpet! This is definitely an event that calls for more than your everyday glam look! When it comes to red carpet hair and makeup, it’s best to hire a professional hairstyling and makeup artist!
I have been glamming beauties of the Screen since 2012 and I can still say, Red Carpet Hair and Makeup is some of my most favorite beauty to do!
Red Carpet Makeup is two parts: good skin and great makeup. Red carpet makeup needs to be strategically-placed & heavier in areas because the flash “eats” makeup, but also is greatly elevated and complimented by good skin and well cared for hair!
Great skin & hair starts with getting good sleep (I recommend 8 hrs), drinking plenty of water daily, and a regular, gentle skincare & haircare routine.
Facials are also a great way to care for skin and can add firming, lift, and a moisturizing glow to any red carpet look!! (Contact your dermatologist before booking!)
Next, book your hair and makeup artist! It’s best to book your hair and makeup artist the day you know you will be walking the red carpet. This allows you to book the time you need and secure yourself in your artist’s schedule!
Red Carpet Makeup and Hair artists come to you on the big day!! Bringing everything they’ll need from lights and chairs, to pro products and tools! You can provide great natural light, a low traffic area with a table/counter for them to set up on, and access to electrical plugs!
The only other thing you’ll need to provide are specific products you may want to use and your hair extensions!!
Hair extensions are a MUST for any red carpet look! Using 1, all 7 pieces, or something in between, extensions add extra volume and potential length that just brings your overall look to Celeb-Status!!
Tips for a great Red Carpet Hair and Makeup Look:
Hair Extensions!! Get them, wash them, dry them, USE THEM!!
Gently exfoliate your skin.
Carry blotting papers and powder. Make sure your powder is Red Carpet appropriate (No white shadows!!)
Bring a small brush with hairspray, for unwanted flyaways!
Start the makeup from the center of the face, and blend out with a makeup sponge!
Choose a great look with contour!
False Lashes are always a YES!
Setting spray does make a difference!
Use a deeper lipstick shade!
Less highlight is always more!
Extra tips for a great Red Carpet experience:

Your feet will swell, find great shoes or bring relief for your feet!
Bring a clutch big enough for your phone and touch up accessories.
Limit Alcohol and Salt intake.
Work out in the morning!
Don’t forget the manicure.
Use a face net or scarf over your face and hair if dress goes on over your head.
